We are the only world manufacturer of water cooled cables for electric furnace AC and DC in the CONCENTRIC, ROPE and STAR LAY technology. As a result, choosing between this different type of cables we are able to give the customers the better solution to meet any productive demands.
We design and build water cooled cables with section up to 7000 mm² and lengths more than 15 metres, with a maximum current intensity of 4,5 A/mm² and a bending radius of 5 times the internal diameter of the hose rubber.

The water cooled cables rubber hose is normally exposed to a considerable hard-wearing mechanical stress, traction and torsion and a terrible thermal shock during the furnace movements. So it's accurately realized using a synthetic auto-extinguishable rubber reinforced with internal nylon layers and covered with a thermal protection.
The FORNOFLEX type is a special tube made with a particular anti-abrasive vulcanised external strip that doesn’t need the BUMPER.

Several kinds of protection, made of silicon or aluminium sheath, can be added to this.

» Copper conductor

The conductor is made of electrolytic refined tough pitch copper and has a diameter from 0,5 (Rope and Star lay) to 1,8 mm. (Concentric lay) according to the application. In particular, in the Star lay cables, we use a tinned copper elementary wire to avoid the copper oxidation and get a longer medium life of the cables.
» Copper terminals

Made of the same material as the copper conductor, they are connected to it by low temperature brazing. Their dimension are upon customers request with eventually a silvered contact surfaces.

Is the fundamental parameter to minimize the power loss and the reactance of the transformer secondary circuit. Once again, thank to our CONCENTRIC, ROPE and STAR lay technology, we can provide a product that grant the better energetic performance.
