Brar Elettromeccanicahas increased his product range introducing electrode holder columns. As known, the main problem of this product is located in the moving parts, that are wearing quickly. Thanks to a special treatment, Brar grant a longer lifetime of the complete system. The column may have different shapes, rectangular and round (specially used for heavy applications).
Brar Elettromeccanicahas successfully designed and manufactured asetof 3 power conducting arms for AC electric furnace in Aluminium. The contract included the engineering and supply of the Aluminum power conducting arms for an electric arc furnace having electrode diameter 610mm and current intensity of 75KA.
A special kind of Aluminium has been used in order to avoid the typical problems of this material.
A new set of power conducting electrode arms has been commissioned for one of the most important steel groups in China. All cold and hot tests gave great results and now the electric arc furnace is operating regularly. Current intensity is 45KA and electrode diameter 500mm.
At the meltshop of Ferriere Nord in Italy, the commissioning of a set of 3 power conducting arms for AC electric furnace supplied by BRAR has been successfully completed last January. BRAR received from the Customer the acceptance of the equipment supplied. The contract included the engineering and supply of the power conducting arms as well as the supervision of the erection on site. Now the AC electric furnace is fully equipped high current components designed and manufactured by BRAR, including water-cooled cables and the new secondary circuit installed in 2004.
