Force under control

The contact force of the electrode on the copper plate is crucial for the proper functioning of the electrode arms. This force is generated by the disc springs mounted in the pusher, which can deteriorate or break over time. For this reason, it is essential to regularly monitor the spring clamping force to ensure optimal performance of the arms.

Brar has developed the Clamping Measurement System (CMS), an advanced tool designed to precisely measure the clamping force of the springs. The CMS is mounted in place of the electrode and allows the condition of the springs to be checked, ensuring consistent monitoring and preventing potential malfunctions.

Versatility and Adaptability

The Clamping Measurement System is versatile and can be used to measure the clamping force in electrodes of various diameters by utilizing specific adapter plates. This system ensures precise monitoring for all types of electrode arms, optimizing maintenance operations.

Here are the specifications of the available Clamping Measurement System models:

  • CMS4: For electrodes with diameters from 400 to 450 mm
  • CMS5: For electrodes with diameters from 500 to 550 mm
  • CMS6: For electrodes with diameters from 600 to 650 mm
  • CMS7: For electrodes with diameters from 700 to 750 mm
