The innovative system for cable handling
Calibra is the solution developed by Brar to simplify the management and handling of water-cooled cables for electric furnaces, ensuring speed, safety, and ease of use.
The system is based on a length-adjustable bar (hanger) that allows cables positioned in a "U" shape to be locked at the ends. Thanks to a worm screw, the distance between the cable terminals can be precisely adjusted, adapting it to the position of the secondary and the power-conducting arms. Additionally, it enables fine adjustments to bring the terminals closer to the connection plate, ensuring optimal alignment.
Calibra has been designed to make adjustment operations more intuitive and reliable, meeting the efficiency and safety requirements of industrial systems.
To further optimize and speed up cable replacement operations, it is recommended to use a U-shaped structure for storing cables ready for installation.
This solution allows cables to be efficiently organized, facilitating their handling with a forklift. During maintenance operations, the structure can be easily transported near the furnace, reducing intervention times and improving the practicality of operations.
Cables require proper management during storage to ensure their performance remains unchanged over time. For this reason, it is advisable to store them in a flat position within specific stackable cribs. These cribs are designed to provide safe storage, optimize space, and allow for an orderly organization of cables ready for use.
Special attention must be paid to spare cables, which need to be kept in a flat position to avoid deformations or damage caused by excessive bending or tension. Additionally, they must be protected from unfavorable environmental conditions: they should be kept away from direct light, which could deteriorate the materials, and from heat sources, which could compromise their structural integrity.
These precautions not only preserve the quality of the cables but also reduce the risk of malfunctions during installation or use, ensuring reliability and long-term durability. Implementing these storage measures ensures optimal inventory management and enhanced operational safety.
